Gandhiji believed that the path & development of the country passes through its’ villages. For India to develop, our villages need to be transformed into ideal villages, which are prosperous and inhabited by healthy and happy people. Village youth including young children are the vehicle of this project. Surya Foundation has made a humble beginning by setting up ‘Bal Vikas Kendras’ in many villages in the country. These Kendras have been established in 15 States of the country and all of them are functioning in far flung and remote rural areas.
They provide moral education, training in Yoga and meditation to the young school going children and dropouts, besides inculcating the spirit of patriotism in them. Amazing results have been achieved by these Bal Vikas Kendras in a short period of time. The children are doing extremely well in their exams and their parents are very happy to see all round improvement in their children.People in Anna Hazare’s village were addicted to drinking, were quarrelsome and did not work. Anna Hazare worked tirelessly and was able to make his village the happiest and best in the country.
Surya Foundation, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, is taking forward Anna Hazare’s inspiring work. It plans to have Ideal Villages in different states in the country.
The Foundation has trained over 2500 rural youth in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and the North Eastern states who are involved in carrying forward this mission.
